I hate to say it but I jumped online this morning while I was sitting on the couch having coffee and situated myself on this weeks to-dos. I made a list of priorities and outlined what deadlines are coming up and all that jazz. It’s taken a bit of the shock off. Now I’m dreading tomorrow just like any other Monday.
Good for you. That’s my normal MO, I’m a PM and that’s what I usually on the last day of a period of time off. But this year I’m making an effort not to cut into my personal time off, I start/end my days earlier/later than most of the rest of the team already, that’s going to have to be enough this year.
Every time a Sunday scary thought pops into my head I stop the thought and pivot to something totally unrelated (it helps to come up with other thought directions in advance, knowing they’ll be needed.) Also keeping busy doing other, totally non-work things. Reminding myself that I’ll take one thing at a time tomorrow. I will not stress because someone else left something till the last minute/over the holiday, or because my inbox will require a backhoe, lol.
No fr lol you don’t. I just disassociate and relax as much as I can and try not to think ab it
What Creative 1 said above. And then the nap of avoidance, realizing that I will not have the opportunity to even think about having a nap again until this time next year.
