Or try shower instead? When our kids didn’t want to use the bath we just got in the shower together and washed them real quick.
This was going to be my suggestion as well. My son has gone through many phases with baths / showers / back to baths. Even at 7 when we say it's time for bath/shower he complains and makes a fuss but then enjoys it once he's in there. These little people can be tricky!!
New toys, bath bomb, new location?
Sounds like a phase. Keep the bath short for now. Also how often? Maybe spread out bath nights more if you can.
Do you think bath toys would help? Or turn bathtime into a game somehow? Maybe let them put stickers on a piece of paper you tape to the side wall so you can wash them up really quickly? These little people are so tricky. 🙃
It’s a phase
It’s a phase! Ours was willing to play in the “rain” (sitting in the tub with the shower on).
My son’s favorite place was the bath and then one day it became a battle. We switched to showers for novelty and he mostly loves it again. (Still 2.5 years old though, so doesn’t love it all of the time 😂😭😈)
I used to wash my son in the kitchen sink at that age cus he was the same. Ymmv 😁😁 does fine in the shower by himself now at age 4
Maybe bathe with him / her?
It’s a phase. We changed the bath time from morning to late afternoon. We also introduced a number of new toys for the bath. After a few weeks toddler didn’t create a fuss for bath. But yes the 2 week period was filled with meltdowns
It's a phase. Try and see if there are any triggers. My guy was avoiding baths at that age, but we figured out that if we could at least get his clothes off, he'd get right in. Screens are a rare, occasional thing for him, so I started letting him watch a video that I pick for ~5-7 minutes while I fill the tub and strip him down. It worked like a charm.
Potty training absolutely destroyed that flow after a few months, but bath time was flawless before then.
Have you tried a shower instead?
