If resale value is important then that essentially rules out any of the “luxury” options you have listed.
These vehicles tend to offer very poor resale value compared to the Japanese options you listed. (With the possible exception of the RX)
Based on what you listed I’d go for the CR-V. However, if it was in the same scenario I’d look at the CX-50 Turbo. I’d sacrifice some resale value, but imo the vehicle dynamics make up for it.
If those are your concerns, I think you'd be better off skipping the luxury cars and sticking with non-luxury. Specifically, it sounds like a RAV4 is probably your best pick, based on what you've said.
Look at the Acura rdx and mdx lines. Just picked up the wife an acura rdx a spec. I buy used cars 2/5 years old so I don't take the initial deprecation.
This is the way.
Probably can get a good lease deal depending on how many miles you plan to put on it. You won’t have any issues with most luxury cars in the first 3 years so maintenance will not be expensive unless you get unlucky.
Personally, I’ve always found ride quality and steering feel to be better in luxury brands, especially SUV’s.
Go for a subcompact Mazda, they're quality vehicles with better driving dynamics and interiors than most options at their price point. Fun to drive as well, relatively nimble depending on the configuration you pick
I bought an Acura RDX and very much enjoy it
You’ll love the crosstrek.
I think so too. Coming from a 2022 that I already love
Wow thanks for the advice everyone. Ruling out luxury for now.
