I'd consider Canon or Nikon. They have a lot of budget friendly cross-compatibility when it comes to future lens purchases. Solid entry-level mirrorless are the Canon EOS M50 and Nikon Z50.
For entry level, I bought a used sony a6000 maybe 7 years ago that’s still going strong and a handy backup for my full frame. If you’re buying new, B&H has a kit in that price range.
My recommendation is to look at the Sony a6400 and the Fuji XT-30ii. My preference is for Fuji, but both are great cameras. With a lens, the price point will be higher, but the extra will be worthwhile.
