McK for a couple years then industry. I’ll say I’ve built a sick skill set in 2 years. None really related to any specific content but more on the ability to live in abstraction and offer structured and well presented solutions. Content stuff comes later in career
If you want to do product then going into a product role directly makes more sense. You don’t gain technical skills like that at any consulting firm.
Where do you want to take your career?
Being in tech and working close to product is my ideal - therefore would prefer Indeed or Cisco. I actually applied to both (well…technically Duo Security)
McK will probably be better for most non tech roles
Product is not considered a biz role in most bigtech. Biz roles are pmm, bizops, sales, partner managers/biz dev, program mgrs, solutions eng, back office ops/analytics
You either work in consulting just to go to tech or start in tech. Why opt for the middleman. Start with tech
