What kind of job are you hoping to land with your book? I definitely recommend finding people at the types of places you’d like to work at and checking out what kind of work they show/how they present their work.
This feels like you’re operating in a bit of a vacuum. Need to really tighten up how you present yourself… tighten up fonts, copy, layout, UX, etc.
Also… Take some time and look through some design compendiums. Back in the day I used to have stacks of them in my office… not sure where the best place to dig into them now is.
Just fyi, on my phone and iPad your site appears as black text on a black background. Not sure if you’re actively working on it but might be something to look into.
Actually, nope, just disabled it and reloaded and this is what I see.
Thanks for the notes, it is a bit unfortunate that I had actively been trying to look at other portfolios and incorporate their elements but maybe that’s why it’s still not entirely unified?
I still have some work to do formatting the about page and was planning to create some case studies but aside from that is there anything specifically that I’m missing that is preventing my message from being communicated clearly?
Btw, I suck at web design and Wordpress has always been a frustrating experience. So my limitations there may also be part of the problem?

Ditch Wordpress. Switch to a portfolio builder site. Something that handles the design for you. Think Squarespace and Cargo Collective. That will immediately level up your game and the vibe of your work.
