Want to build an app as a hobby and looking for someone who can point me to the best resource for standard code framework for basics like logon/session management, database I/O, encryption, etc. Anyone want to help an (almost) boomer out ...

Raywenderlich.com highly recommended, dm me if you have any questions

DjangoGirls is awesome and where I started: https://tutorial.djangogirls.org/en/

I’d suggest doing an iOS app and learning from the Stanford intro to iOS development class, really walks you through the process. Of course you’ll need some basic coding skills first so if you don’t have em check out MiTs intro to CS class and it’ll teach you python. All the classes are available free online and give you a great practical understanding of how core works.

Thanks all, will check these out. @D2, might reach out to you if, or more honestly when, I get stuck.

Hello! It seems this bowl is not very active but I'd like it to be. So here's my story: Born & raised in PR, moved to CA for undergrad & have been here since then. I graduated from law school in 2019, followed by a 2 yr bk clerkship. I did the evening program. I really enjoyed law school, in spite of the microaggressions, the late nights, & crazy competition. Love all things diversity in the law. Anyway, currently looking for a position in NYC/DC area. 🤗

Republicans... in hindsight, do you think it was a political miscalculation to have Pence on the ticket? Seems to me it would have been advantageous to have someone firmly in the Trump camp - like Alex Jones - as his VP to galvanize the base and put more daylight between the Trump ticket and Biden’s mainline political position. Thoughts?

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
