I wish someone early on had advised me to learn more about statistics and data. I feel like I've learned what I've needed to know just by picking things up along the way. But having a real background in data would have made things easier at times, and probably would have made me more effective.
It’s ok to not want TV. I committed to digital marketing later in my career. I’m happier and challenged creatively here. Growing up, I thought all your top creatives had to be on television, have a Super Bowl spot, win awards, and work on a lot of big brands. I’ve actually done all of that. I got burned out fighting to maintain my place there, instead of working on creative solutions. That is the most satisfying part of my work and I get to do that now where my team supports the same goals, instead of trying to outdo each other.
