I got my first client on October 2024, and a few more followed. With 3 finished projects of remodeling and addition, I also landed a client in Malibu who unfortunately lost their home in the Palisade Fires. Full design by me(Currently in permitting process).

I know money is relative but at what stage in your career did you start making and saving the big money (saving much more than you could spend)? I am not a big spender but....

I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power.

I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about.

However, I feel really guilty about wasting their time and going all the way knowing I’ll just say no at the end. Wwyd?

I am asked during this RE analyst interview to build a real estate model from scratch. My background is commercial banking and I am used to analyzing real estate deals from the lender side not the developer. The interviewer is generous I must say he’s giving me a few days to complete. However this model is for a ground up multifamily development. I have no prior experience building one. I can find models online but all very complexe to reproduce. How would you handle? Do you have model to share?
