Ghosting is usually a sign that your process is taking too long and applicants start to check out/sign competing offers.
How much time passes between each recruitment step? Are you communicating frequently enough?
Even if you have nothing concrete to report yet, a ‘holding’ email to keep in touch can do a lot to retain candidate interest.
The interview process is for both sides to judge fit; they just aren’t that into you. Just like employers will ghost candidates who they don’t want to move forward with, these candidates are busy with lives and don’t have time to respond to something they aren’t interested in.
What are the common factors? Is it duration of time or people participating in the process? Perhaps someone or some people are giving bad impressions to candidates.
Ghosting is communication to MOVE ON.
