What are some cool activities that help you recharge creatively? I recently saw someone on a flight, possibly in their mid 50s, having the time of their life with an adult coloring book. It made me realize how simple an activity could be that could still lock you in for a good time. Can I get more ideas for some seemingly trivial ideas like this?

I do jigsaw puzzles and online Scrabble and chess games in my free time. All of these help keep the mind sharp, as opposed to just zoning out in front of the TV.

This is old school, but I love knitting. It takes me away for hours together and I've started to realise it really helps me increase my focus both in and outside of work too. Art journalling is fun too. I take a piece of paper and some watercolor markers and paint a picture of how I'm feeling or how I want to feel. Hands down fav thing to do!

For me it’s puzzles, building LEGO sets, or even just crosswords and sudoku, it’s weirdly therapeutic. I’ve also gotten into painting thrifted pottery with random designs. It’s low-stakes, no pressure, and somehow resets my brain in the best way.

I take a break every afternoon and play Wordle. Most of the time when my streaks have been broken it's because I get busy and don't do it during my routine break, and then I just forget to do it. Drives me nuts. And I usually have some gardening tasks to attend to. This time of year I've been starting a lot of seeds, which I have to start putting out into the ground soon. I always get a kick out of that.
