Hi All, I have cleared loop for a Database specialist role with AWS and the salary(just the base pay) offered is double the current but I see the level I have been offered is l4 not considering the fact that I have 8 yoe. Is there an option I can request for to revise the level or should go by the offer for the pay bump? I heard levels in aws are flat from the recruiter. Is that true?

How have you broke the news to your boss that you’re looking to make a career change and leave the practice? I am the Sr. Paralegal at my firm (7+ years) and work for a solo practitioner in a very busy wage & hour class action practice. We have one other legal assistant and law clerk. I don’t want to burn bridges, but after seeing how he gave the cold shoulder to his paralegal of 10+ years after going on maternity leave and never coming back, I don’t see how I can’t expect the same treatment.

I got a DUI in back in 2006. I have a family vacation planned for Canada next week and realized that they could potentially deny me entry for the past violation.
