So my current project is getting really hectic and even my lead is on leave these days. All his responsibilities are coming to my queue and most of which I don’t have any idea about. I’m planning to resign this week. Should I keep working on such hectic schedules or any work at all including all the new responsibilities even after resigning? Just saw a friend who didn’t know anything about programming got a new job offer at 160k, doubling his previous salary in other fields, after going through a short 3-month boot camp (Code Smith). If the bar is so low (relative to going to do an MD/DDS/JD/MBA) for entry, why do you think not more people have joined the field to balance the pay of SDE when compared to other fields/industries? Kind of labor Econ question. I am curious as I don’t work in this field but many of my friends do.
