My problem is that I take work home with me in my head. I can't seem to stop thinking about things I need to do, things I could have done better, and even the whatifs that have no bearing at the time. I've started yoga and meditation to try and stop the constant, incessant thoughts. I also take plenty of time off. That seems to help me recharge the most.

I feel you 100%…. Currently on the verge of burning out

I set clear boundaries between my work and life. During my off hours, I make sure I spend it all just winding down to recharge. If I don't schedule some social activities a few evenings a week I get burned out more easily during the week because I didn't give myself time to take a step back from work.

What type of social activities? Most of my friends work late (investment banking / big law / medicine) so need to figure out a new friend group

Eat well

And Sleep well

But when you’re worried about burn out, do you still sleep well?

Hi everyone! I’m currently open to a new role after working for 5 years at my agency. Most of my work at the agency has involved management, community engagement, data analysis, communications, and visual design.

I’m curious about trying something new, but feel a bit directionless. Any advice on what could potentially be of interest?

Does anyone have advice on transitioning from insurance to another industry? I am Vice President of a small commercial brokerage- basically I do everything except write the checks. I want to move to a more structured corporate role in marketing or strategy somewhere like American Express or JP Morgan. Any thoughts? Anyone successfully pivoted? I can’t even get an interview outside of the insurance industry. I have 2.5 years experience in insurance, before that I was in restaurant management.
