I use it to plan vacations! I try not to be such a schedule nerd when I'm traveling because I can appreciate spontaneity and flexibility. But I like to go in prepared with a potential itinerary so that days don't get wasted or so that we don't lose track of our hotel and flight information
- brainstorm anything
- follow your investment portfolio
- Calculate loan interests cost
- log anything: lessons in a course, diet, helps to be goal driven
- do your CRM
- simulate whatever calculation
- Track my daughters' allowances
- budgeting
- tracking my macronutrients in my diet
I used it for debt pay off, which I know is still kind of budgeting. Also used it for a holiday meal last year, more so love it for the organization aspect, not really putting a ton of formulas into that one after all. And it’s nice to be able to check back on and make updates as needed for future use.

--Holiday card/gift lists (I send like 200 cards, so tracking addresses and merging labels are important)
--Grocery lists/pantry inventory
--Any list that might need to be sorted using different factors at different times
My first use for Excel was for tape trading, way back in the analog era. I would keep my list of Grateful Dead tapes in Excel, and I could send it to people when we traded. Tape trading was later replaced by CDR trading, and eventually bit torrent came along and made the Deadhead trading scene obsolete. Anyway, being a Deadhead got me into using Excel.
