What is the proper dress code as a realtor? I've never been the type to wear suits but I feel out of place if I don't wear them

Business casual is pretty standard, but your agency, location, and your main clientele can all influence that somewhat.

It is usually recommended that realtors dress professionally and conservatively. This means wearing suits or other formal clothing for men and skirts or dresses below the knee for women. It is also generally recommended to avoid wearing too much jewelry or makeup and to keep your hair neat and tidy. However, I am seeing more and more agents dressed in business casual attire.

I’m a first year and fucked up big time. The client doesn’t know about this but a senior associate was furious. I know it’s 100% my fault but no one above me actually reviewed my work bc everyone was so busy. But then I found out the senior gave a rant about how I fucked up to another colleague. When I apologized to him, he was really salty. Since then, my heart drops every time I see his email bc I’m too scared. He is usually pretty emotional and his instructions are vague, which doesn’t help.

If one were to leave big law and try to go in-house, what's the conflicts situation like? Say, for example, you've been working a lot with a single client in a particular space (call it, say, Blamazon). Now you want to make a jump in-house to a different company in a similar space (call it, say, Flamazon). Would you be able to at all? How do conflicts work? Are you basically dead in the water working for anyone that's a competitor?

Not looking to make a move, but... I always keep options open.

Hi everyone

I'm in a business development role based in Asia. May I get your thoughts/pointers on the CAIA?

I'm aware that the CAIA is not as popular in Asia compared to the CFA. From my knowledge, there are no CAIA holders in my current firm within the Asian region, despite dealing with alternative investments.

Would be happy to hear your thoughts regarding the CAIA, and study tips if you have any!

I am meeting my mom for the first time after 3 years post pandemic and going to pick her up from SFO airport. Her flight lands around 6 am PST. This is my first time where I will be driving from Sunnyvale to SFO airport and back (30 miles each) and want to avoid FasTrak/Express lanes as I don't want to pay so much money.
1. Does the Google maps 'Avoid tolls' option work in this case?
2. Any tips/tricks on driving such long distances?
3. What documents should I carry with me?

As realtors, our worst and best friend are the contractors, being friends with the contractor that remodelled a home you are going to sell is a plus because you can know for sure what kind of improvements were made to the house and why; and what kind of things are pending to be improved, that way you can provide real information to the client. You know what they say: a happy client always comes back to you.

What would be your advice if someone asked: “I’m debating right now on buying a car or moving to the city close to a metro station so that I maybe won’t need to buy a car for awhile. I plan to buy a car at some point but I figured rent is so expensive that if I get a place close to a metro I won’t need to worry about it. But what I was going to ask you is do you think there’s a “good time” to sign a lease ? I work in Arlington but I’d like to be in DC. I’m looking for a 1br 1bath. “
