Question about clearing conflicts - I’m in my first few years of practice and I just got an offer to lateral from one big law firm to another. I am in a transactional practice and am currently working on a deal where my new firm is representing the opposing party. I imagine this is relatively common in big law and am wondering what to expect in terms of clearing conflicts - especially as a more junior associate on the matter.

I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. Now I’m having anxiety searching for a job. I don’t think I want to sell anymore yet every single recruiter I interview with says I should, that I have a “salesperson mentality”. I’m burnt out. Has anyone else felt this way? How did handle it? Is there a different career path I can take or am I destined to sell insurance forever?
