What has been your experience with auto-injectors? I'm really not good with pricks, and I never have been. It may sound kiddish, but getting an injection is one of the biggest fears of my life, but I've heard the auto-injectors are really bearable. Can you share what the pros and cons have been for you?

The biggest pro for me is the simplicity and speed. You just load the pen, dial in the dose, press it against your skin, and click. It's so much faster than drawing up medication from vials with traditional syringes, and it eliminates a lot of the visual fear of the needle itself because it's hidden. The consistency is another huge benefit. You get a precise dose every time, and the injection depth is automatic, which minimizes error and bruising compared to manual injections. I've found it less painful overall, too, as the needle goes in and out so quickly.

I actually have a new/unopened auto injector (got it for my third FET when I couldn’t find my old auto injector). If you decide you want one, I’d be happy to ship my new one to you, assuming you live in the US, if you want it! DM me your address.

uplifting

The injections are probably the easiest for me during the IVF journey. I also hate and fear needles. But honestly, it's not that bad, the anticipation is the worst for the injections though I would say.

I did it for 10 weeks.

Any tips on how to improve lining thickness? My RE had me on Estrace for a week before starting Prometrium (vaginally) a few days ago, but my lining is only a little above 5mm. Looks likely that this FET cycle is going to get canceled (was potentially going to be this weekend) since the lining doesn’t seem to be thick enough. This will be the 3rd transfer cycle that’s getting canceled, it just really sucks...what’s worse is I didn’t see my doctor today, just the sono tech, (cont’d)

Advice and/or consolation anyone? My wife and I (both above average health 30year olds) were trying for 11 months before getting pregnant and then had a week 5 early miscarriage a few months back. If the stress and surprise of just how difficult it apparently is to get pregnant wasn’t enough, the miscarriage put us over. We got back to it and have been trying for the last 2 months again, still no luck. We’re freaking out… all we want is a family. Any similar stories? Advice? 😢

Has anyone switched labs for better lab quality/embryologist experience? Wondering if there is a significant difference between labs. We got poor results at our current clinic and, happens that our clinic is rated lower on SART website. Thanks.

Trying to have faith but my recent cycle netted 16 eggs, 8 fertilized and only 2 made it to day 5 for testing. There were 3 others that just didn’t mature. This is my third cycle and I’ve been pretty positive up until today. It’s especially hard to get this news in the middle of a work day. Just tired, still bloated and not feeling all that hopeful as we enter this LONG wait until we get the results next week. I hate feeling like this knowing my chances are getting slimmer by the day.

Also, how involved are you REs? I’ve been through 2 retrievals now, but feel kinda in the dark still on a lot of things. Some of the nurses are hit or miss and if I want to talk to my doctor I have to schedule a consultation and its typically a 2 week wait.

To do an ERA or not before transfer is the question. My clinic said currently the recommendation is to only do an ERA with multiple transfer fails, but I’ve read about ERA’s for those with recurrent pregnancy loss as well. Anyone go through this experience?
