For my pcos ladies on metformin, interesting news article. Be careful out there. The good news I hear is that metformin leaves the body pretty quickly so in 2 days you won't have it in you anymore. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/victoriaforster/2020/04/05/researchers-warn-that-covid-19-treatment-t

So we had a positive test this morning but due to a long string of disappointments we’re just remaining cautiously optimistic. Sunday’s bloodwork will tell us more and then we have some weeks until we will let our guards down more I think. That said, it’s our first positive test after a year and a half of trying so I think some form of quiet celebration is in order.

Congrats! Get ready for (at least) 3 more months of being guardedly, cautiously excited. ♥️

Why would there be any risks? The only downside is your mental state and potentially torturing yourself.

Yeah that’s pretty much the risks I’m thinking. People told us not to test early but my wife of course couldn’t wait and told me most people she talks to didn’t either. I was curious about others’ experiences.

We vowed not to test at home. Seven days is how long I made it, too.

I haven’t been there yet but I tested early after my IUI starting a few days before the blood test. I guess it depends on your personality whether knowing early will help or hurt. I thought that it would sting less if I tested on my own terms and didn’t have to wait on pins and needles for a call with blood test results (kind of like testing early when we were still trying the old fashioned way rather than waiting for my period to come).
For me, testing early didn’t hurt any worse than a negative result from the blood test. But testing early did kind of suck more than waiting would have when I had a chemical pregnancy after an IUI. Just gave me even more days to be happy and excited before the disappointment of the CP hit me like a brick wall.
Right now I’m telling myself I’m not gonna test early before my beta after FET number one next Friday. Who knows how I’ll feel next Wednesday?
My wife does the same. I tell her not to test but she can't help herself. We've been mostly disappointed shortly after.
Risks are that you get a positive pregnancy test and then the line gets lighter after a few days, resulting in a chemical pregnancy. It happened to me and I was devastated, perhaps more devastated than if I had waited until my beta blood test results. I wish you luck and I hope you don’t test any more before Sunday.
