I don’t think *hope* will help you break into a different industry, even if one of your patients has connections.
What part of the entertainment industry? (Actor in Hollywood? Comedian? Adult film star?)
What do you want to do in it? (Actor, producer, cinematography, editing…?)
What are your qualifications?
What are your unique strengths/experience?
How can you add value?
What do you still need to learn?
Where? By whom?
Figure all that out.
Put together a CV and headshots (or whatever is relevant for what you’re going for).
Develop a plan to fill in the gaps, while still keeping a source of income coming in.
Network and interview relentlessly on your breaks and time off.
Take a leap of faith once you get your chance.
Good news is you have training and experience you can always revert back to if it doesn’t work out.
But, no, you’re not being very realistic. Having someone “discover” you as their PT and giving you your “big break” is what the movies are about. Not life.

I appreciate your insight on this topic. I agree with everything you are saying and it needs to make sense before making switch a leap. Part of me thinks that opportunity cost is part of the issue. Living in Los Angeles and being able to support yourself, even if its barely making it, seems like winning a huge feat by itself. Most people that move here think they will make it big and end up on porn hub. I do consider myself a very passionate person who is willing to do anything that it takes to get to the destination. If you watched that movie, hangover, that MD (Ken Jeong) did a pretty good job as Mr. Chow. Although Ken Jeong, still practices medicine part time, he does it with passion because he is not being burned out by the demands of insurance and fighting for reimbursement to barely survive. He was so unhappy he was okay being naked in the trunk of a car on film. Haha
