What is your honest opinion on what's going in Europe and the United Kingdom in terms of foreigners (mostly muslim)? With law enforcement arresting citizens for speaking out. And now Shabana Mahmood being elected as secretary of state?

This is not to pick sides but to see what folks on the left, center, and right see happening?

The levels of immigration over the past few decades which have ratcheted up to ever higher levels are actually the "extremism".

There isn't a single state in history which absorbed this many people so rapidly and lived to tell the tale.

I have many friends outside the UK/Europe/West and they all think it's insane that we thought we could just magic ethnic tensions away.

Europe has fought hard to achieve a certain level of gender equality and safety on the streets. Many people see that if large numbers of people from countries, cultures, or religions where these values are not respected come here without the intention to adapt and adopt european values, this could be put at risk and facts show this concern is real.

What’s your opinion? Because it feels like a non-so-subtle hint of Islamophobia coming through…

I guess the analogy for this would be introducing non-native trees or animals to a peaceful ecosystem. It wrecks havoc.

I’ve never seen such a global effort to force this kind of immigration. The US is facing the same problem and also a similar one with H1-B workers.

These kinds of actions are just going to start forcing people to not like certain groups of other people. There has to be a better way.

I would not travel to the UK or Europe at this time, or anytime soon. They've been overrun with violent illegals and Muslims.

I see the world turning to socialism/communism or to Islamic government against countries, that fought for freedom, leftist have allowed these people to overrun governments, have bent or compromised laws and let this happen. The government has put such a burden on the people it's all they can do to keep their head above water, while they make promises that are actuals lies. These people should have stayed in their own countries; however, they left their country for a better life, or did they, if so, why are they trying to force us in to believing in their ways. We didn't ask for them to come here and do so, we offered them a better life and they have taken advantage of our good will. However, we now know their intentions and the countries that over being overrun, hopefully will put a stop to it, or suffer the consequences, don't be fooled by what they, beware of what they do, or suffer the consequences.

This is the EU's answer to rapid population expansion and global labor shortages. The birth rate is lower and lower and they need cheap labor to compete in the global economy. Last I heard Italy adopted a policy of giving pregnant women an immediate tax exemption in order to provide incentive to population growth. The problem is that along with the good people come the criminals and the EU is ignoring crime because in the country some of them come from, its shall we say different. And like the American Left, god forbid that we toughen up on crime for fear of being racist. At the current pace, many cultural places in the EU will disappear as will their customs and beliefs. Some people will see this as a disaster, others will see it as the adoption of a "global world". Personally, I don't believe in open immigration policies. For this to work, countries have to insist that if you immigrate, you must adopt to our customs and beliefs but there again, to many people that is racism.

I grew up in a relatively high-immigrant part of town in the 90s, with a lot of immigration from the former Jugoslavian area. There were lots of issues with the immigrants, but nowhere near todays status. We maybe had 3-4 immigrant kids per classroom of 20 something kids. Was it all smooth? No. But the ratio worked out and I think nowadays, this population is quite well-integrated. This was how it should be done.
Today, the ratio is just completely off. You won‘t be able to assimilate/integrate these numbers anymore, which will inevitably lead to a change of our local society and culture - the one which hs built this country up. That‘s problem number 1.
Problem number 2 is the crazy amount of young men who are immigrating versus „real“ refugee groups where there‘s more of a mix of genders and age groups. I‘ve served in the army long enough to know that putting many young men together like that, as a surplus, is bad news no matter where they come from but even more so for men from patriarchical societies.
Problem number 3 is the principle of „non refoulement“. Great idea when it was put in place, but it doesn‘t work anymore. I work with law enforcement agencies and it can‘t go on like this anymore. We need to deport people as soon as they do anything illegal, refuse to work or assimilate. I don‘t care if we‘re deporting them back to war zones.
Problem number 4 is demographic change. That may be less relevant with the coming AI age where headcounts matter less for the economic growth.
Problem number 5 are our politicians but also our voters. I don‘t think the majority of either of them are willing to do what needs to be done as outlined above.
Is europe screwed? Yes. Is the US doing much better? I‘m not sure. I‘m a patriot and will for sure try my luck and to change things right here.

I see the European continent is paying the price for such inane open border decisions. The numerous cultures are at risk.

Mostly about this wickedly twisted group of humans that think they can become God's. Fearing the population has reached a point they can no longer control without probability of loss. They steal from, test on and then kill large swaths of the planet in search of their God. One death cult after another to no avail. Theyre losing hope. Giving up they finally try to create an army of controllable human hybrids to keep their legacies alive for all of eternity. Plot twist they get sold a pipe dream by a bunch of cons that just used their money to make some weapons and cool architecture with slave labor. It's got it all!

I'm one of those books. These people flood their own country with immigrants so the population doesn't notice it's about to get left holding the bag. While the real bad guys escape to their private island chains. Having thought they conquered the area they overtake it's infrastructure. Only to not know that the infrastructure is still secretly controlled by the real bad people! That's in terminator 9. Pretty gory book that doesn't go like it's supposed to.

Who knows what's really going on I just thinks it's pretty close to that books idea of the future.

the EU leaders are pushing for war with Russia, Lead by Macron of France, and UK govt thinks it will be good to get rid of all those rising up against it by sending them to war. Germany wants control over UK's Nukes and Russia thinks Germany should not continue to exist if it wants to start another World war..... Again its the Traitor politicians leading the charge to Oblivion!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement to not give up. However, Arkansas is known to being a Age discrimination state. I will tell everyone that I say when I'm done. Are seniors taking jobs for younger applicants. Yes and no. Seniors grew up with a strong work ethic and offer lots of experience and along with that, empathy. Young people have a fresh pair of eyes and possibly the latest in AI. I'm for all those folks wanting to enter the workforce Young and old. As for me, getting rejected numerous times is heartfelt 💔 😢 not to mention discouraging.
