Hi guys, Now VMware is offering me a 35% percent hike of what I am earning at DellEmc. I just completed one year at DellEmc. Total 2.7YOE But I don't like to go out of Dell, due to some personal commitments I am planning to switch.
Is it a good time to switch?
Can I talk with my manager ?
Are they able to hike the salary of what VMware is offering? Please suggest me.

If somebody uses the term 6 figures I always assume there’s an inherent “just barely” at the front
If someone actually says “six figure salary” I assume they are just breaking 100k. People who make more or companies who offer more, phase it differently.

"six figures / low six figures" = ~$100k
"comfortably six figures" = ~$250k
"well/nicely into the six figure range" = ~$500k
"deep/high six figures" = ~$750k
"I do okay for myself" = $1mm+

Best Six figures!!!
$150k
Above 100k after taxes
$100K pre-tax
At least $100k. I think six figures meant a good way to say rich, but now I imagine $250k when I think rich.
$250 is just enough to be comfortable in metro. But by no means is it rich. It’s what an average middle class family in the 50’s used to experience lifestyle wise.

$100,000.00 is six figures and so is $999,999.99 . When someone says they make six-figures, usually mean they barely broke $100,000 and too embarrassed to give the exact numbers.
