What roles should I target for working 40 hours per week or (ideally) less. Income isn’t the top priority, $60K is fine. Have CPA and audit experience.

I’m thinking internal audit and nonprofit/university staff accountant.

Any non- profit or government role, specially typical back office accounting. Internal audit is not a 40 hour a week job. Some companies, yeah, but it has is cycles

In my 6 years in nonprofit roles, other than hourly positions where I limit the OT, none of the work could be completed in 40 hrs.

The hours are better than public but not steady 40 better; the pay is definitely less; but, I prefer increasing public good rather than maximizing shareholder profits.

Consider temp work as well. A lot of it is paid hourly, and you can make $60k part-time, depending on your work. Being paid hourly changes people's mindsets about overtime.

For those who work in Agencies, how do you accurately identify the work capacity of your Account Management team? I’m currently comparing against account billable/number of accounts, however, there are still discrepancies. I layer on time tracking, but smaller billable accounts will sometimes be just as demanding as larger billable accounts which create profitability issues.
