What do you want to know? I had a US CPA and had no problem getting offers in Canada. It’s kind of seen as equivalent although it’s not

Are US CPAs able to get promoted alongside Canadian CA peers? (For example in the US most firms require the US CPA certification to get promoted to manager - other certifications aren’t accepted).

Definitely helps. I'd suggest taking the exam to get the Canadian CPA after some time though. I know someone who took it recently and they struggled a bit with the tax part but passed easily. Since you're already "qualified" it's only a short exam; you don't have to go through the whole thing.

I'm reading this book on boundaries. In the work section it says I should tell my boss that I can't work after 5 PM. Knowing that advertising work commonly goes past 5 PM...would my job be in danger if I said that?
There's not really a rule book that says I must work until the work is done even though it's an unsaid expectation. Thoughts?

UPDATE (RE: SoCal Assistant Controller Interview)

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)
