Honestly, I went through something similar. I was doing all of the work, it felt like, and not receiving the compensation I felt I deserved for how much I contributed to the agency. I ended up making a long-term plan to go solo and started my own agency. It's going well, growth is a little bit slower than I expected, but I'm able to sustain myself. I would do it again in a heartbeat, but probably sooner. I spent a lot of time building up someone else's business when I should've been building up my own.
Love this for you. And glad you've found success in going independent. That is quite the leap.
When your efforts weren't being matched by compensation or respect, and the response from management was just radio silence. That’s a major sign it’s time to go.When I realized I was no longer excited by the work, or inspired by the leadership, and everything felt like a grind, I knew I needed a fresh start.
I think that is the point I'm at right now. Definitely time for something new to feel reenergized.
There was nothing more for me to do in my current job. Tried to move up and do something different but wasn’t getting any concrete responses. Started to feel stagnant and I liked the job, but didn’t love it enough to just call it a day for the long term. That’s when I started looking around and found something that was a better fit, and made some more money at it too.
Love that you felt there was more out there for you and acted on it!
