That you should get into HR because you love people. That may sound harsh but hear me out. In this role you will pretty much see some of the worst and best behavior that people can exhibit but we are usually called into situations when they are at their worst. You will also have to make some very tough decisions and finally it is extremely difficult to truly be friends with anyone at work because you have to be fair to everyone. It is paradoxical in that it can be a very lonely position at times even though you are interacting with people daily.
That human resources advocates for employees and has your back. We do our best, but ultimately our responsibility is to the company and to avoid lawsuits, not to help employees.
That AI can replace HR
My company cut half our team after implementing a bunch of AI software without properly testing it. Our job went from HR to putting out the fires that this AI created. No one could have possibly predicted this, but they have put a stop to the AI software for now and are looking at hiring back one or two people.
