I wish I knew! If only this adjuster's license would translate over to another industry that doesn't lie and say work-life balance is an actual thing. I don't know many adjusters that work a 40 hour week and keep their head above water!
I work for Progressive Insurance
Retired after 30 years, on a pension and working as an IA. Clients wonder what planet I'm from as I'm efficient and fast due to the long tenure at the carrier, and to me working 30ish hours a week feels part time and like a vacation. '23 was my best year, made 91 grand due to lots of roof/hail claims. I don't storm chase, the hail came to me that year.
Have always enjoyed the work but hated the volume that the carrier rammed down my throat. Now it is fun again, Getting a large loss isn't a burden anymore, it is is a good billing opportunity. My last large loss had around 8K in billings on it.
Probably retire from it
Same..next step retirement
Retired at 58 after 35 years in claims.
Retirement
I have 10 years in sales. I’ve considered underwriting I’ve also considered going into addiction. I tried a couple years ago to pivot management got wind and threatened me. I make them a lot I guess and as I’m the breadwinner for my family I feel stuck honestly.
Does anyone know someone that is recently licensed that would like to work part-time as a virtual life agent as an independent contractor? Ongoing training, mentoring and systems would be included. I can provide more details to those that are interested.
