Accenture wasn’t a great fit for me. The talent density in the region was low, which led to a toxic culture fueled by low-performing CRM tagging shenanigans. However, there were pockets of truly exceptional talent, but overall, the region felt below par compared to my previous tenure at a big4 firm.
Used to. Not any more. Industry aligned now.
Deloitte. Incredibly toxic leaders, frat house culture in my industry, and very political.
Accenture. Too big, public, overly bureaucratic, high attrition of talent, so many internal fiefdoms to navigate and that was 15 years ago. Can’t imagine what it is like today.
I would take that over being bureaucratic, etc and private with all decisions made by the Illuminati in a black box.
It is about toxic people. Same firm you could have very different experiences. When newcomers are trying to prove themselves, it may feel toxic even though they are trying to just prove themselves.

My experience at PwC was awful. But it will depend on location and service line as it’s very leadership dependent I think.
PWC was tough, people were generally nice, but I found all atmosphere to be extremely stressful and cross-country work / sharing was almost impossible
Yes, PwC presents an interesting paradox in that regard. People are generally nice as individuals. But the overall culture is highly political, compulsively critical (in a not invented here sense), and riddled with mediocrities.

KPMG
KPMG hired a bunch of Deloitte people. A group of more toxic, self centered narcissists I have never met.
You’re not a partner are you?
I own equity if that's what you call a partner. Let's not pretend anyone in the big 4 except a select few of executives / vice chairs have any decision making power.

Looks like that’s the takeaway, aside from obvious no-go firms, like WITCH, it all boils down to leadership and team in the areas I’m targeting.
