What's a good place to live to access both downtown and Argonne national lab in Lemont? I live on the far north side of Chicago now, but my partner got a new job and it would be an hour each way by car to commute for him. I work downtown along the red line. Looking for somewhere affordable, not interested in night life or anything but groceries and transit need to be 10 minute walk or less and be safe. Will be leaving for a competitor (different consulting firm) soon and trying to figure out how to approach 2 weeks notice. I have several weeks of unused vacation still - will / can my firm force me to use my vacation time during my two week notice period? I have recently received an offer letter from PwC and have signed and accepted the offer (via Workday portal).
Now when I check the tasks against the job on workday, I can see no tasks pending and under completed tasks: a green tick against 'review and sign offer letter (step complete)' (and I can see the offer)
I am told that I would receive onboarding emails from HR, but I haven't yet.
My DoJ is in the fourth week of July. When do we generally expect these communications?

Expecting to hear if I got the job by Tuesday but have an interview the same day. How do I ask for time to think it over if I get an offer and how do I get the interview people to possibly speed it up so I can decide between the 2? I don't want to accept and then decline a few days later.. 😩
