I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?

This is not entirely true. I left after my second busy season with DHG (Raleigh, NC), I was at 56k. Left for PNC in Jan 2018 and now making 72k. I'm in line to make Manager in the next year. The old model on having to stay in Public until Manager is broken. You'll be wasting your time while getting completely railed in public accounting. 2 years of Public experience is the sweet spot in my experience.
Not necessarily
Nope. It depends on your interview and company you join
Most like but not 100% guaranteed. SMC1, I am surprised at your response. Would you think who has one year of experience would get a higher paying job than someone who has three years of experience? I understand that it all depends on good opportunity and how good you are but if you are good your earning potential increases the longer you stay in PA.
