The professional advice you’ll get is that you need to learn how to manage up. That’s a skill you’ll learn over time.

The real life advice is that corporate America is all bs and nothing actually matters.

Yep and you probably busted your hump working OT nights and weekends all for it to be in a queue to be reviewed months from now. If that ain't poor project management from management then nothing is. Feels for you bro.

It’s also your job. You can learn what not to do from your managers just as much as you can learn what to do. Take this as a lesson of how you won’t be at that level.

Stretched thin but as a rule - the later I get to review, the more I end up fixing myself. Then that's on me. But a lot of people at the manager role or higher in public accounting are uptight workaholics who don't care - sad truth.

Just my fat fingers. 😆

Ugh yes. Then I am mad dashing to fix it to thwir impossible ocd requirements. I redid a report 10 times because she was punishing me for disagreed with them on a finding. I was so incredibly angry. Im still angry with them

I’m in PA school now but in the process of interviewing for what might be my dream job in medical imaging industry. If I get the job pay will start around 120k at a large company with room for growth. If I stay in PA school I will have around 120k in debt and will probably work in vascular surgery. What would you do? It’s literally the second week of school for me, I have my 3rd interview for the job next week

Does any of the big4 firm allow working remote from Canada/ overseas? Any policies that restrict that?

Let me tell you, I love the flexibility at my firm, OK pay, and I do a great job, and am comfortable pushing back when I have too much work . BUT managers are terrible at planning and recently end up putting me in preventable situations where I need to work 55 hrs or have the staff work the 55 hours. I literally cannot since I have a family and my daughter is only in day care a few hours a day, I'm already doing my max work. Is it crazy that I may want to leave Bc I hate making ppl miserable?

Unfortunately was dragged into an audit despite the fact I don’t work in audit. Why does audit RM say yeah your hours will be 50 hours/week when you’ll have to work way more to do the audit. Seems very dumb - if you have work do it, if not don’t work…
