Let me tell you, I love the flexibility at my firm, OK pay, and I do a great job, and am comfortable pushing back when I have too much work . BUT managers are terrible at planning and recently end up putting me in preventable situations where I need to work 55 hrs or have the staff work the 55 hours. I literally cannot since I have a family and my daughter is only in day care a few hours a day, I'm already doing my max work. Is it crazy that I may want to leave Bc I hate making ppl miserable?

Try to switch teams. I’ve loved and hated my job at the same company based on my managers. I’ve only left companies because of a bad boss. When I was at pwc I should have tried to rearrange because I actually liked it there. Happy now so it all worked out.

I was a manager at a top 10 firm and it turned out the partner I worked for literally made it impossible to plan ahead. Like I would schedule meetings that got cancelled, or blown off. Do everything I could to finish work on time, only to get carryover that bled into other jobs in the future. It was an impossible situation so I left.

I think it's just the nj office that's a mess. I was OK helping out since I like the partner, but may want to just avoid any of her future jobs staffed in nj. A recruiter just reached out to me tho for a role I may actually like for once, so will look into that!

What is wrong with me? Ex banker here who got absolutely burned out and exited to PE. Learned the hard way PE was no better so I landed at a cushy Corp dev job at a large tech making 200-250 working 30 hour weeks. This sounds like the dream right? But eventually I got bored and felt upside was limited. Wanted to try out a startup / unicorn due to FOMO during this hot funding market. Now I’m getting cranked at this unicorn despite friends warning me I’ll work a lot more at a startup.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Thank you in advance!

How would switching to big 4 tech consulting at 2 YOE look for mba applications? Would it hurt? Looking to matriculate 2023 or 2024 but don't want this move to hurt me if I do it.

I’ve been out of work for a significant amount of time due to Covid decimating my industry. I’ve gone on many interviews and had a few final rounds. I finally received an offer today. The pay is more than I’ve ever made & team seems great. I just can’t help but feel a little disappointed bc it’s not the industry I was in before which was the whole reason I went to law school to begin with. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, right? Anyone experience a similar situation? Happy you pivoted?
