What games, toys, or science kits would you recommend for a kid who’s showing an interest in the sciences?

Legos are a way to motivate creation in children, personally limit the time in front of the screens because they stun and the best way is to motivate the creative part.

A chemistry kit for children is great, that has given me love and respect for science since I was 7 years old, and he is able to create the same things and see the results immediately with everything he does.

I think my first piece of advice would be to avoid the use of screens unless they are science topics for children, on the other hand moving toys are very good at explaining things, for example, a Hotwheels track helps you explain Newton's laws including gravity.

Any toy that is not a screen is linked to science, it is incredible how toys have evolved and more science has entered into the operations, there is a Hasbro product that is a robot that the child assembles piece by piece and in the end, the robot turns on and moves, that motivates any child.

I recommend collections of books that deal with science but are for children, even the Star Wars books are a very good option.

I was a huge fan of Knex when I was a kid, they're sort of like legos but they work with magnets and you can create contraptions with them

How old is the kid? Older kids are probably interested in more challenging or complicated toys

i disagree with the sentiment around computers and screens, I think there are some video games out there that allow children to exercise their creativity and problem solving skills such as Polybridge or Kerbal Space Program, of course if their age is right for it

One of my fondest memories was when my dad bought me a telescope and microscope sets, I used them almost everyday for so long and I think it really helped me develop my curiosity

Check out Discovery Toys, pretty much everything they sell has an educational element to it and they're high quality

Need advice and help.

I have realized I grew up in a household where my dad did not treat my mom as an equal. He belittles her, is rude and convinced his way is the only way.

It is painful to say, but some of this shows up in me and in my relationship. I am starting to catch myself, and it to me seems to be more of a reaction than anythjng that is ever intentional.

Wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar, and any success in making changes besides therapy. Cont. in comments

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.

I would want just a classic, timeless (no pun intended) looking ladies Rolex watch that I can wear for many years to come. Suggestions on a style? I really don’t know anything about them and would like to get some opinions on what people like since there are so many options.

3 years ago I distanced my long term love and chose my ambition to complete an MS and create something for both of us in hopes to get back to her as a grown independent man. I lost her for not being there “enough”. Should I regret it? Should i have chosen Love and regretted not achieving my dreams? (We are 27, we fell in love when we were 15) I was a no one back in the day but now it’s totally different, i am debt free, financially stable and ready to settle down.

My AMAB 10yo told us they are non-binary. Any thoughts, advice, resources for parenting enby kids?

Been with my GF since college and we recently hit the 4 year mark. 1-2 years into our relationship I found out she had instances of micro-cheating (flirting with guys, talking to ex’s etc - but nothing physical) and we addressed it. To her credit and my knowledge, she’s been apologetic and great at respecting boundaries since, but I still feel the pain from her actions years ago (and have talked to her about it). Feeling lost about whether to just leave or to try and work things out

I’m in my 4th year at a small plaintiffs’ firm. Past two years I’ve received meager raises (5k) and terrible bonuses (3k). My boss prides himself on allowing me to gain experience so I have more courtroom experience than most attorneys with twice the experience. As I’ve applied for other firms, I’ve been denied interviews based on how my boss is perceived in the community. I’ve gathered professional references from opposing attorneys and other attorneys we work with but still can’t land. Help

Hi All,

I am a full stack developer with 4+ years of experience. My tech stack is node, react, AWS. I am looking for a job change. So I am giving interviews for both frontend and backend. But whenever I am facing interviews, i am getting to know about a lot of new things which I was not aware of which is making me feel depressed ? Because I have knowledge of a lot of stacks but don't have knowledge of anyone in depth making me feel insecure now.

Anyone have ideas for jobs that are a mix between administration and clinical work? I went to school for community health and have a lot of manager/patient coordinator experience under my belt, but I'm also a volunteer EMT and would like to start using those skills in my next job that I'm searching for.

Most titles I've found interesting are along the "medical assistants" role, but don't fit the bill cause I don't have an MA license

I’m looking to transition from an academic medical center to pharma or a biotech. I have about 8 years of clinical research experience overall — 7 years combined as a CRC (CRC I, CRC II, and senior CRC) and 1 year as a PM. I’m also recently ACRP-CP certified.

I’ve worked with many different industry-sponsors and CROs throughout the years, but many jobs I am applying to require experience at a biotech/CRO/pharma company. Would really appreciate any advice or referrals. Thanks in advance!
