And that’s why people are ditching ad agencies (at least the dinosaur holding company ones), they never take care of their people. When I was at agencies it was rare if ever, now it’s at least 3% typically every year.
In-house here. Yearly raise has never been below 3%. Bonuses are generally in the 10% ballpark. Last year was rough year and was 7.5% (best was 16.5%).
Shoot, that sounds amazing!
In house at a startup. 3% is standard if you are doing good work. 5% if you’ve gone above and beyond. Anything higher requires approval from c-level and usually is tied to a significant promotion and change of title.
was previously at an agency (under a large holding company). they had no guaranteed raises. only merit based, and that was a big maybe. one time got a 1% raise. other times they were random market rate adjustments or a counter offer to keep me around.
currently in-house, and guaranteed up to 3% raise based on company performance.
3-5% at my company. 3% minimum for everyone and up to 5% for those who really did well. Every year.
Wow. After many years at various agencies, I’ve never been at one that gave annual raises. Not even heard of one for that matter!
