What’s your relationship with ambition these days? I used to chase every promotion, dream about the big title, the corner office, the whole ladder-climbing fantasy. But lately—maybe it’s burnout, maybe it’s perspective—I’ve started craving stability, time with family, and weekends that actually feel like rest. I still care about doing great work, but the constant hustle no longer feels worth sacrificing everything else. Does that mean I’m losing my edge—or just evolving into a new version of ambition?

Ambition is overrated when it just means working yourself into the ground for someone else’s bottom line. Give me peace, PTO, and a 4-day workweek—I’ve got nothing to prove. Hustle culture is a trap.

Look Honey, our little girl has finally grown up. Welcome to the world of reality, where your job is where you work, not who you are. Where your priorities are you, your family and the outside world. Career advancement will happen if it is meant to be, whether you sell your soul to the Devil or grind yourself into an early grave or just do your best while at work. Your health, your mental stability, and your family need far more attention and work than your job does. They are also much more important.

Hustle culture in America is toxic and corporate greed is at an all time high. Idk about you but working myself to death to get a piece of that pie isn’t worth it to me. Setting and achieving goals are fine but at what point is enough?

I think our relationship with ambition changes over time. When I was younger I was burning to move up, and I just felt the challenge to do it every day. But once you have some experience, climbing upward becomes something that feels like an ordinary progression. It's still good, but it's not as exciting. And I do think other factors, like having some quality time with family, certainly take on more importance. I don't think ambition disappears, but it does seem to change.

It’s definitely an evolution and I think other factors become more important later in life. Personally for me, career isn’t enough on its own anymore, I need more

I relate to this so much. I used to equate ambition with nonstop hustle too, but it’s shifted in the past few years. Now it looks more like balance, purpose, and protecting my time. I don’t think it means losing your edge at all, just redefining success on your own terms.

I resonate with this. Burnout brought me here and I’m not sure I care about any of those accolades anymore.

Not itchy but I definitely felt like my skin was reacting. Any suggestions for non-acne related calming face washes or moisturizers?
