When did you know it was time to move agency to in house? I’m feeling my agency time might be just about done, but can’t tell if the grass is really greener.

My first manager in agency told me that once I’m no longer learning or growing it’s time to move. I feel around the 3-4yr mark is a good time to evaluate other options.

I agree with this. When you’re no longer learning or challenged and want to be, that’s a sign. If you hate going in to work every day and it’s bringing unneeded stress into your personal life, it’s a sign. I also think the biggest sign for me is if I didn’t respect my boss or feel supported that’s a dealbreaker for me. But I don’t think it’s a slam dunk just going agency to client as the only answer. If you can identify why you want to leave, it can help to inform if in-house is better. With in house you get stuck potentially on the same brand, the politics internally are brutal and if you think no clients make decisions from your agency perspective, just wait to see how slow it goes client side. It’s brutal. My experience with in-house is it also where my driven by finance influence as well

I didn’t feel like I was learning or being challenged with new things

When you get sick of the hassle of managing a ton of accounts, or when the accounts you manage are all trash. Both contributed to me moving in house. Whether or not it's greener really depends on the company you'd be working for. I passed on an in house healthcare role because the work sounded mind-numbingly dull. I'm in B2C ecomm now for a company whose product I actually believe in and far prefer it to agency work.

Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?

Got an offer from MBB and they want me to start before summer 2021, is it possible to push it to later in the year like after Christmas 2021? I would come in the same level as me previous firm, so pretty much ignoring my past experience, not sure if that matters

Hi fishes,

I have received my first offer letter which they wanted me to accept by e- signing it and after i did that theh have sent out form 11 and other documents to be filled in 2 days.
I have never filled form 11 and other personal details untill 1 week before my joining date.

My joining date would be after my notice period which is usually 2 months.
Should I share the person details and form 11 they asked for now itself?
Will it be a problem if i don't wish to join the company later
