I tend to overwork myself and it’s really taking a toll on my mental well-being. I want to learn a lot and prove myself to my superiors so that they recognize me/see value. Now my work has a sense of dread to it. I watched my parents be workaholics growing up, so it’s all I know. I’m also goal-oriented and driven, so achieving a lot scratches that itch for me. But, it’s making me want to quit cause I’m burned out and depressed….im not sure what to do. Any suggestions would be helpful.

If you're content where you are, there's honestly nothing wrong with that. And in this job market it's not a great time to be casting about looking for a position unless you've got real motivation for it. If you get to the point where you're feeling passionate about finding new challenges you'll know it.
6 years for me. I was burned out managing accounts and wanted more autonomy. Ended up moving in house and haven't looked back.
I agree with Marketing Director 1, it depends on if you are content or not. In this job market, if you are content then I wouldn't be trying to switch. It is very hard to find a company that you actually enjoy working for.

I just went back to an agency after being brand side. So much more fun! Although the grind is real. Something to be said for whether you prefer the one receiving or delivering the inevitable 5p just as your agency is about to go home phone needing something urgent.
I moved out of the agency side after getting about 5 years experience. It's a job for the young, to be blunt. It's exhausting hours and more fast-paced than any other position I've ever held. When did I know it was time to make the move? I decided that I had more value client-side, now knowing what agencies could provide. I would make more money and have more control over my projects. MY projects. I could own and be accountable for client-side work. I could become loyal to one company.
Although agency work is very rewarding, I found client-side work to be even more-so. I was also better at it.
I sincerely hope you make the decision that fits you. Of course, there is also the thought that you should stay until one day, you wake up and feel like it's time to move on. That's also a timing strategy.
Do what suits you best.
Good luck.
