Agents are processors of information and tasks. For example, you could have an agent that scans your email for invoices, adds them to your invoice management system, matches the invoiced amounts against contracts, highlights any discrepancies, and then pays them.
It's basically any task or series of tasks a person would normally perform, except now an AI agent does it, largely free from oversight.
Curious how this will integrate compared to copilot
Have you ever been to a website and they have that automated chat? My guess is something like that, or one that can send an email. All things that could be automated, but from a customer standpoint, probably won’t be appreciated much. You can do a ton of stuff independently, but when you want to talk to somebody, you want a human person.
Solutions like intercom?
AI that can take actions. I think of agents as replacements for personal assistants:
Book flights
Schedule meetings
Buy a gift for my partner
Post on social media and handle the comments with replies and likes.
I look forward to having my AI agent call customer's service's bot to complain about my internet bill or get bank fees waived.
Functional AIs will be the next step in the evolution of LLMs
Like A1 said, I'm guessing it will be some sort of chatbot with additional capabilities. No idea what those will be, but they'll hopefully be better than the current "virtual assistants" on every website.
I think we have so many chatbots already
