“I would like to schedule a meeting with you to discuss how things are going with me managing the XYZ and handling the LMN and OPQ. I believe these (programs, projects, assignments, etc.) are going well and that I am performing well in my new role. I’d love to request a review now that I’ve taken on this position. I’ve assumed significantly more responsibility, and the numbers support my understanding that I’m adding value to Organization Name. I would like to request a salary increase commensurate with my increased level of responsibility. Can we meet to discuss this in the next two weeks, please?”
If your manager is decent, this shouldn’t feel awkward. A good manager usually expects employees to bring this stuff up eventually, especially after workload increases.

You should ask for a raise after a significant increase in workload. Six months is a fair time to wait. I’d suggest preparing your case first. Start the conversation by highlighting your contributions and the added responsibilities.
