I'm a product engineer and it's hard to turn off work mode at the end of the day, I think of how products *should* be packaged when I'm shopping and can't understand why my wife doesn't care 🤷

I think you should learn to separate your work from your personal life, I don't think it is necessary to give importance to those things. Better enjoy your moments with your wife

Well, it is evident that he does not care because not many people care, but there is no way to deactivate seeing those things that others do not, I have had problems because of the way I see the world, I have only learned to keep my opinions to myself.

Something similar happens to me but with projects, I am a project engineer and I am very organized in my work, my wife is not at all, so we always have problems because I can organize things and she messes them up and they can spend a lot of time disorganized without bothering you and it bothers me from minute 1.

When we program our mind for a job and it passes into our world outside of work, it is quite a complicated issue to deal with, for example, the police and military are always alert, and in your case with shopping and so on, I think it is something that has no cure and is something that we are destined to repeat.

In my office we practice something called decompression therapy, it's done on Fridays before leaving the office and it's great to release some of our pressure and thoughts about work, maybe you should consider proposing something like that in your work.

What a complex situation, because it is difficult not to think about work outside of work, it is something like, you are working thinking about work and you are outside of work thinking about work you are dreaming and you dream about work too, so it is something that is always there the solution? Well, for me it has been practicing yoga.

That means that you are a perfectionist, it is an attitude that goes beyond your field of work, it is something that is in you, there is nothing to feel guilty about, what you cannot do is go against others because they do not feel it.

Your poor wife 😂 I get it, I've never been able to completely shut down my work brain after hours. Though I keep it to myself because I definitely understand that most people just won't care. If I dated a hairdresser and they wanted to discuss the hair styles and hair health of everyone we see, I'd be out of there asap.

I have to tell my parents that I got engaged this weekend. Married to a crazy rich girlfriend and it's the worst experience of my life. She can afford anything, flying first class everywhere, wears all branded stuff and she doesnt have to work for life. I am working very hard to provide for family and I am still not able to add any value to her life and she's been distancing herself. We havent had any meaningful interaction in the past 1 year too, been sleeping separately, no touch/kiss/sex or anything like that. We might be divorcing soon...

What do you all do to make non-professional / personal connections? Particularly with the Coronavirus, and being in domestic relations, I wake up, go to work, work out, go home. So outside of law, my interactions with people are only at the gym given that my area is draining— particularly at the moment. Probably a good thing for now; but if we take coronavirus out of the equation, I’m interested what others in the community do to develop personal connections.

35F divorced with a kid. I think I will never get remarried or in a serious relationship again. Lots of men don't like dating women with children. At my age either the guys are past their prime, divorced/ing and have to provide half their income to their first wife. Many with kids live on the same street as their ex wives so they can be close to their child. I'm not comfortable dating guys like that. On the flip side there are the ones that were never married, which by this age cont
