When the government shuts down, it’s not just operations that stop — lives do. Federal employees are left hanging, bills piling up, mental health slipping under stress and uncertainty.
No one should have to suffer for serving their country.
How do you think the government can protect its employees during these shutdowns?

If the government cared about protecting its employees, this never would have happened in the first place. The government needs to start caring more about the people who elected them, and a lot less about their own egos.

The government could do a lot to make things easier for its employees, but that's not the goal. The current OMB director was on video two years ago giving a speech and bragging about how he wants to "traumatize" federal workers. These people are a dangerous cult and they're hoping to damage the federal government. Their shenanigans could do damage for generations, people will avoid public service because it has become too dangerous.

Funny, Congress keeps getting paychecks during shutdowns when it’s literally their fault….hmmm

Just heard that my district will have classroom and live-recording learning. I’m thankful because I now can feed my family, my newborn and a recent-sponsored wife! I’m scared because I’m almost 50 and I’m afraid I might catch the virus and die leaving behind my 1 month baby and a wife who is not legal in the state yet! The USCIS or Trump’s dept. thinks she’s not good enough to be in the US!! We applied for green card and SS card since August 2019!
