I live in the south as well so people usually pretty kind here and have good manners. That being said, it does seem like people have forgotten their manners in other states since Covid.
There seems to be a real crisis of manners in society over the last decade or so. I honestly wonder if people are being influenced by reality TV to be really rude to each other. People used to be ashamed to do or say things that today are considered ordinary. Just being polite in public really is becoming a rarity.

Totally feel this! It’s becoming so rare to hear ‘please’ and ‘thank you.’ Feels like common courtesy is disappearing in a lot of places these days.

I live in the south and I still see people have respectable manner towards work associates. But I do also see the younger generation with less manners than our generation. At my place of work, it just depends on the day and people.
