I always get nervous before my reviews as well. Because even through I feel like I’ve been doing my job well, you just never know how your manager views your work. But I had my review six weeks ago. It went well and I even got a little raise.

I always feel a wave of nerves too, even when I know I’ve done good work. I swear I should be more at ease with them by now, but reviews can feel so unpredictable. Hoping yours goes better than expected and you get the recognition you deserve. Would love to hear any tips from someone who doesn't feel nervous for their review season!

Aww you’re so sweet. Hope and pray that we all get glowing reviews. We can be so hard on ourselves as creatives. I feel nervous even tho I did well this past year too. Just because I fear not getting promoted and letting that potentially hurt my confidence

I'm a brand new attorney (passed the Feb 2021 bar) who started an in-house counsel position a few months ago (where my focus is negotiating agreements for the sale of my company's software). I was a contracts manager on an in-house team for 4 years prior, which is why I was able to go straight in-house. I'm entirely skipping out on firm life, which feels both good and bad. Is there anything I should think about getting experience in? How should I go about making sure I am seeing enough things?

My partner is a cancer survivor, and I brought her in to talk to my kids. I had her stay for one of our GSA meetings and did something I have never done before--I answered questions about our journey together. It felt very liberating, but still scary.

How do you get good at thinking on your feet? I find I always need time to think and analyse before being able to answer client queries (even those that are considered simple by others). I don't want to rush and get it wrong. I avoid phone calls for this reason which isn't great when you're in the service industry so it's starting to impact my career.
