Why do companies insist on work samples but never confirm if they were viewed? I just got a rejection notice within 15 minutes of uploading a project I spent 16 hours on. It was such a waste of time and effort. Not sure what I should do now... would you call or email to follow up? Or just let it go?

Check to see if it was a mistake. Sometimes, rejection emails are sent out by mistake. If it’s true then just move on. Some companies requires you to take a test, this is a hiring manager thing not a recruiter kind of thing. You have other interviews right ?

I’ve only slept with one person, my wife. I have not openly shared this with anyone because there’s a stigma that I “settled” or I don’t have numbers on the board like a man should. I’m not overly religious, so that was never a driver in the equation. I admit, I do think about the “what if” every once in awhile but I’m honestly getting to the age where I feel I’m beyond my prime anyhow.

I am new recruiter with about 2 yrs experience within people practice ( learning & development - Employability support - and now recruiting)
