Why do judges get a complete pass for being rude, disorganized, and late to their own hearings? I spent three hours sitting in a courtroom morning call waiting for a judge who rolled in 45 minutes late with no apology, holding a Starbucks cup. If an attorney showed up that late, we’d face sanctions or a malpractice claim, but the bench treats our time like it’s completely worthless. Is there any jurisdiction where judges are actually held accountable for administrative incompetence?

Hi fishes,
I am planning a switch so was going through some salary data for a software engineer. My ex-senior manager recommended me a website:
Growceed.com which helped me a lot in getting clarification about a lot of things but I am in doubt whether the average salaries of software engineer mentioned on Growceed.com really that much in top MNC companies.

Having confidence to take the next step in your career is all about the process.

Thoughts —> Beliefs —> Actions —> Outcomes —> Repeat

This virtuous cycle is a continuous feedback loop that builds on itself.

Focus on positive thoughts and let the negative ones float on by.

When thoughts become beliefs, take action.

Outcomes give you data to help adjust your approach and build confidence.

Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

You can DIY.

I'm a long time prosecutor getting into the ID game and billable hours. Are there any resources out there that can help me get more effective/efficient without spending months/years learning the hard way? Some days I'm at the office 10 hours, took virtually no breaks and yet only bill 7. 🤬

I need an assistant/paralegal. Probably part time at first. I live/work in a small city in Oklahoma, solo practice. I would like approx 10 billable hours/week (if part time) from them. What do i look for in one? Pay amount? (Most here make around $12/hour). Incentives for bonus money?

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. I'm grateful to have lots of good work but not sure how to course correct.
