That's the indian construction company consultancy branch right?
Not construction, IT services.
Most likely PMI
I have been talking to them as well.. it’s a new group with only 20 people, truly focused on M&A. Target bonus is 20-30%. It’s not a bad deal. If the money is significantly higher then doesn’t hurt to try it out and boomerang if it doesn’t work out.
Got it, yeah I’ve been doing a lot of IT, HR, Ops DD, mostly shared services. Might be good to get the other side and the money is obviously attractive
Looked at going there. I have talked to them extensively. I have a friend currently working in that group. They have a love/hate relationship with it. They are re-orging their structure internally. He says the internal tech and back-end systems are pathetic. They have a weird way of doing travel but that was an issue pre-Covid.
They said their bonus targets have been all over the board and they are a top performer with lots of Big 4 experience. There is a lot of issues working internally with other TCS teams to get simple info from them and they seem to very silo'd when it comes to work.
Their immediate team is good but some of the ones they work with just make his life more difficult than necessary. Generally the work is pretty straightforward and you can sort of carve out your own niche. At the same time, nobody is going to mentor you there either.
They did offer me a big wad of cash more than I am making here and basically a guaranteed promotion. If I did get promoted anytime soon it would probably close that gap so unlikely to jump now as I have a very good network where I am and a great team overall.
The other issue would be once you go there, it might be hard to leave.
Is that base? What level?
Got it, thanks for the insight. I am gonna think on it some more before going back to them
Depends on what you are doing now a d what you want to do.. it won’t be the M&A DD and transaction stuff you’d see in banks or the big4 strategy/transaction service branches.. it will be ensuring business process are merged, org is merged, systems are merged... so PMO and BA stuff there
IBM1 agree. Understanding is that it will be transaction operational strategy. Primarily sign to close and post close. Minimal DD or valuation.
They reached out to me as well. They said they could go as high at $210 for a senior mgr (base) and about 20% bonus.
Does anybody know if the “grind” there people or if there is reasonable balance?
Very little grind. Pretty easy to hit your bonus metrics. At least it was before they started the re-org. Doubt that would change much. Very little work regarding business development so not a lot of sales pressure. You often are embedded with a client so to speak long-term.
They are more focus of M&A due diligence, PMI etc.
