Why do you think Apple is so behind the game in terms of AI? They’re usually the best version of something but it seems like AI is moving too rapidly for them sink their teeth into and improve and I wonder if it’s a cultural shift at the company during a Tim Cook era

I wonder if their ethos about not bringing things out until they're ready for market has tripped them up. There's something about AI that does feel kind of unfinished, and maybe that offends the Apple sensibilities? In some ways, it is almost more a fashion brand than tech company, and I suspect they're very wary of anything that might go contrary to that image.

That’s like saying Apple is so behind on building apps for their store. The cash cow is building the device everyone uses then getting revenue for everything sold on the platform. I’m curious if they’d be profitable if the phones were free. They can simply let you select the best LLM, subscribe for $20, they’ll take $5.
