Additional Posts in Administrative Assistants
Hi all, does anyone know of any recruiters or hiring managers that work in Affirm Inc. I've been applying for a couple of jobs with them . The role I have applied for I know lam a extraordinary fit for
100% and can help the company/ department succeed. I have a good deal of experience with this role and would love to talk to a recruiter or a hiring manager more about this. If anyone
could reach out to me if you have any information on that I would greatly appreciate it.

It’s not about skill, it’s perception. Clinics sometimes default to hiring women for admin roles because of a stereotype around who looks “welcoming” or “trustworthy.” That’s not fair, and yeah, it can absolutely feel like bias. But instead of fighting the label, challenge the role. Show up sharp, professional, and ready. Eventually someone smart will realize talent doesn’t wear a gender.
I do think there's some kinds of discrimination when it comes to the "assistant" role. I don't know many executive or administrative assistants who are men, and I think it does stem from some ideas about women being more submissive and inclined towards providing "assistance" rather than being the ones making demands.
Or being more organized/better soft skills than (some of) the male executives.
Based on the survey, it's 89% women and only 11% men. Is there a discrimination?
It is essential for employers to focus on qualifications and skills with experience rather than gender to ensure "FAIR" hiring practices.

Are they saying they prefer it or is it just a numbers thing? I can say when I was hiring this year for an open AA position there were literally only two obvious male nams in the stack of resumes out of over 500+. The amount of males even wanting the job we're just so slim.
This is absolute buffoonery! I’m a career secretary/admin asst with 40+ years in this role. I’ve only worked with a couple of male AAs. As most ditch diggers and pilots are male. It’s just gender preferences and mathematics. Please stop with stirring the pot of gender conspiracy nonsense and get your life!
