Totally agree 😁

Hey everyone, I got a call from Deloitte recruiting on Wednesday of last week discussing salary requirements and location. They told me that the team really liked me and that they were going to work on an offer. I got a call on Friday saying one group has approved the offer but they are waiting on others. I haven’t heard much since then. Should I be worried? How much longer will I have to wait?
Pennsylvania, you're killing me.

It won't help, but there are a lot of places looking right now so you can probably find one that will give you anther shot. I would be super up front about it in the interview process. Don't make them find it/ask you about it. Instead say here is what happened, here is where I have grown and learned from the experience, and here is what I will do so it isn't an issue going forward. You might even be able to turn it into a positive.
I wouldn't stress too much. Many schools will look at the whole picture - your experience, how you present yourself, and your references. If you can speak to how you’ve improved since then - and how you'll continue to improve - most hiring teams will be more interested in your growth than your past struggles.
You have to answer certain questions when you look for a new job, I think. Like, "have you ever been fired or resigned from a school district". You'd need to come up with good reasons, like you wanted higher pay, or you wanted to live closer to home or something in that case.
I wouldn't try to hide it like that if negative information will come out when they contact your previous employer. Just say, I left because I wasn't experiencing success. I was under improvement because of this and this. I realize now I could have done more in this area and this area and will do these things in the future. Then turn it on them and say, "I would be excited to work here because I know you have a history of supporting your staff well and I feel I could be successful here.
My improvement plan was in shaky grounds. I was distinguished in one eval and needs improvement on the next. So, I went from master level teacher to needs unproven under 6 weeks. Why? Because I have receipts on an Assistant Pricipal saying negative things about the campus and it’s students. It was embarrassing for them, so they came after me. I never signed or acknowledged the eval or improvement plan and resigned and they “decided” not to come after my license….maybe because my evidence was really strong (audio file)
Would a school district even divulge that information? Usually that sort of thing goes in the emplyee's "working" file and stays with the administrator. After all, it presents a huge liability should a former employee get a contingency lawyer and challenge the issue. The damage settlement is usually significant. It's much safer for an employer just to give dates of employment and leave it at that.
Nope! You’ll be totally fine!
An improvement plan should not be in your file. I’m in Texas, and I know that you have the right to see your file and take whatever you want from it. I believe all that a school can send to your next school is your service record which doesn’t include anything but the years you worked there.
I disagree! Your previous is legally bound not to tell your potential employer anything about an improvement plan, write ups, etc. The only thing they can tell your potential employer is if they would hire you again or not. Don’t sweat it. Schools know that every school is different, and the school you were at just was not a good fit.
That's in your file and cannot be shared with others, so you shouldn't have an issue.
Don’t stress! I got a job after being on an”improvement plan” in my case it was political and unwarranted and tried to be used as a scare and humiliation tactic to ruin my teaching career. In my case, I never talked about it. I did my job well and let the new school find out about it later. That was the right choice for me. I’m glad that I did that. Go with what your gut tells you to do. Only you know your situation.
When a school leader / administrator is confident about their ability, there is no need for moles or threats. 3 rules in life:
Be nice
Work hard
Have fun
Why are administrators SO petty and difficult????!!!
