Wish I could return my presents. A bunch of random stuff I don't need or want (shirt in wrong size, socks that don't fit, and random eBay) - would rather my nieces and nephews just get all the gifts.

First world problems

like

Set expectations early. No gifts. Small gifts. Gift cards or donations only, etc. Makes everyone a lot happier to just agree on what to do!!

like

I got a bunch of fancy napkins and glass bowls for when I "entertain" people for dinner parties. I can barely cook for myself and am gone 4 days a week; when am I going to throw a nice '50s housewife dinner party? 😂

like

I'm not saying I wanted presents or didn't get what I wanted, I don't like the materialism, don't need more junk, and wish they didn't waste money and time vs. saving it. Would much rather just spend some time together. Oh well.

Re-gift or donate to charity

like

Donate them to the IBM. That person was very sad because they did not get any gifts while buying for everyone. You have the opposite problems so would solve both!

Same here, OP. Really not feeling the Christmas spirit.

My family agreed to book a weekend at a cabin next year and only give one gift each to the kids....that's a relief.

like

Give it away

My aunt always gives me exoebitants amounts of cheap gifts without receipts. I can't give them back or she gets offended. It's a bizarre xmas ritual.

Rocketmiles takes gifts for miles

My mother's gift to me was a homemade gift certificate to buy a trash can for the guest bathroom. Because she's upset I don't have one in the bathroom she uses. Total oversight on my part (relatively new house), but I feel really crappy.

Totally understand.

After being mugged and having my things (including my keys) stolen, I was locked out of my townhome after business hours on a weekend. I was told on the phone when dialing my complex’s after hours number (which is managed by a 3rd party company) that my complex’s policy would let me in for a cost of $100 (as it was after hours). After I was let in, property manager informed me the charge was $200. Is there anything I can do here? This is in Minnesota. Help appreciated!!
